A Good Day for Sitting Up
Meara just sent these. She said that when Roland woke up from his nap he decided it was a good time to try sitting up. He seems quite happy with his success.

A Selfie Tradition
Meara recently posted this great picture of her and Lando.
Back in March of 2012 Gus took this one with Rosie.

Rosie and Lando
Rosie seems happy to be the big sister.
Lando is a little more skeptical about being the little brother.

Christmas 2014
Gus, Meara, Rosie, Lando, and I just had our Skyped Christmas gathering. Rosie unwrapped all of her own presents this year, and she emptied her own stocking. [Christmas tradition question - When you get your stocking, do you dump everything out at once and then look through the pile, or do you take one item out at a time? Follow-up question - Does each individual item in the stocking get wrapped, or do they all go in unwrapped? Or wrap some but not all (as I do)?] And this was Roland's first Christmas. He is wearing the very same Rudolph sweatshirt that Gus wore for his first Christmas.

Lando was 3 Weeks Old & Rosie was Belle
While I was in Portland Lando turned 3 weeks old and it was Halloween. Rosie was the most beautiful Belle ever, and Gus was a most tolerant Beast. Hero of the week award goes to Meara. While Lando needed constant attention and Rosie demanded constant attention, Meara created a perfect Belle wig, which Rosie wanted but ultimately chose not to wear. Meara also crafted horns and furry ears to transform Gus into the Beast. Gus made a valiant effort to keep these on his head but every time he bent down to attend to Belle, off fell his beastly accouterments. Actual Trick or Treating was brief but successful. Rosie is now a confirmed chocoholic.

Time is Flying
Life is moving a little fast these days so I haven't posted any photos of my visit to Portland. I met my sweet grandson and I spent time with Rosie -- such a treat to see all of my sweet ones twice in the last three months.
Sadly Gus had to teach most of the days I was there. But Meara and Rosie and Lando and I had a very full and fun week together. And I got to spend a lot of time holding Lando.
I arrived in Portland on Sunday October 26. Gus and Rosie met me at the airport. Best welcome ever!
Then we went home to Meara and Lando (aka Roland). I brought him a winter hat. He will hate me for this some day.

We went to the Warehouse Cafe and Market to see The Tangled Threads. Every kid (and every adult) was pretty much mesmerized.
Every day with my sweet gran'babies was wonderful.
You know you are a grandparent when you take your shoes off at the end of the day and find a Hello Kitty sticker on your sock.
