Double the Pleasure, Double the Fun

I love giraffes.  So today's news made me smile -- twice.

There are several sites with a video.  This I think is the best  http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/22440347/2013/05/28/twin-giraffes-born-in-new-braunfels  If you'd rather not go to the video, here is the story (from same site).

A pair of twin reticulated giraffes, the only set of its kind living in the U.S., was born at Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch in New Braunfels.  The twin giraffes, Wasswa and Nakato, were delivered on May 10. Wasswa, a female calf, weighed 95 pounds and was 4.5 feet tall when she was born. Nakato, a male calf, weighed 125 pounds and was 5.5 feet tall when he was delivered.  "Both Wasswa and Nakato are thriving," said Tiffany Soechting, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch animal specialist caring for the newborn giraffes.  Carol, the mother of the twins, is seven years old while their father, Marshall, is ten years old.

I especially love that Mom's name is Carol and Dad's is Marshall.  Here's Carol and her little girl -- too cute.

Memorial Day Skyping with Rosie

Today Rosie decided that she wanted to Skype upstairs, in her room.

She ran into her room and got cozy in her purple chair, which matched perfectly with her purple dress (and her cupcake tattoo).

And then we played peek-a-boo -- which caused lots of giggles.

Where's Rosie?

There she is!

With a little help from her Mom, she put on her Elmo slippers.

She wanted to make sure I could see them.

And she introduced me to some of the critters in her room.  This is White Cow.

Gromma loves and misses you all.

Sunday Skyping with Rosie

Rosie and Meara were eating a yummy fruit slushy they just finished making.

Then Rosie got a pile of books together so she could choose one to read with Gus.

Eventually they both got a little silly.

Gromma loves you all!

Mother's Day Skyping with Rosie

Seeing these happy faces is just what I needed to make this a wonderful Mother's Day.

"This little piggy" with the right foot was so much fun ...

... we did it again with the left foot.

Goodbye til next week!!!

Happy Mother's Day to My Two Favorite Moms!

My all-time favorite picture of Mom and me, Summer 1959.

I have two favorite pictures from last year of my beautiful daughter-in-law Meara with my equally beautiful granddaughter Rosemary Jane.  I can't choose, so ...

Sunday Skyping with Rosie

Gus and Rosie sang me the Sesame Street song -- she knows all of the words.

Hard to see but she has balanced a tiny blue bear on her shoe.

She is telling me to be quiet because the bear is sleeping.

"Goodbye!"
